Since 19/4/2024 around 9:30am, there are intermittent, mechanical and slightly high pitched 'beep' sounds from my phone. It is one single beep, and it can happen once or sometimes twice in a row.
I have disabled NFC, turned off scanning of nearby devices, updated my phone software and even switched off my phone the whole night (20/4/2024) but the beeping sound still persists even when I switch on the phone again. Restarting did not help either. Here's a recording - try listening for a very short beep sound at 4 seconds (quite faint when recorded, you might have to crank up the volume).
I am not sure what's happening but the frequency is driving me nuts. It is still happening at intervals. I've lodged a report via the Members app but in the meantime, if anyone has faced this issue and found a workaround or what's causing it, I would really appreciate your input and help!

I was having a similar issue. Weirdly it would start when I opened snap chat but occasionally would beep after closing snap chat. Turned off NFC and beeping stopped. Turned back on and started in snap chat. Removed my bank card from wallet and it stopped with SC open. Touch bank card to back of phone and beeped and pulled away and stopped. But only in SC. Can you explain what's going on? Should I not have my card in the wallet phone case? I'd hate that bc I don't want to carry a purse!

That was my case! I was going crazy for 2 weeks, I 've read that the reason of beeping can be water that got inside and I recently soaked my phone under the rain, so I was waiting for it to evaporate. And only now AI told me to check if I have NFC card near the phone and I did have it in the pocket of my case 🤦 Resolved by completely removing it from the case.
What a shame that Samsung notifications did not show pop-up with NFC contact! And I could not guess myself because before I was carrying other cards for months and they never beeped.

What was the app you removed that was making the sound?

Thanks a lot. I was annoyed for so much time with this, only to have a so stupid issue. 😆
I ended up searching why I had this random sound. You helped a lot.

Kudos!
I would have never thought of that, but it is exactly what is happening to me. I have a phone case that I carry my card in all the time and as soon as I removed the cards, the beeping stopped! Thank you for figuring this one out!

I'd love to know who the genius was that put this into and update 😤
As per some of the suggestions here it was simply because I kept my credit cards in my phone case.
Removed credit cards and it stopped, put them back in and it started. Flipped my cards so the "tap" portion of the card was toward the top of the phone ... Success!!

I had the same issue. I downloaded the "Good Lock" app, and in my case, the sound was caused by the "Reminder" notification. You can turn it off in the settings. This might help someone.
On the Galaxy S23: Settings → Notifications → Advanced settings → Notification reminders

I have had the same problem you do it started I guess I noticed it two weeks ago that might have been when they did a second update soon after the first one. Like you I went to all my apps that I have notifications on took out some of them but that is not the sound that I chose this sounds like a piece of chalk or someone's Nails scraping down a Blackboard so loud and so quick that I had to shut off my phone while I was traveling on a bus and for religious services. Each time it happens I check the notifications but like you there's nothing there. I'm afraid to reset this I don't want to reset the phone
