(UPDATED.)
- Go to "Settings".
- Go to "Display".
- Go to "Navigational Panel".
- Change to "Gestures of holding".
- Choose the second "Buttons order".
- Go to the home screen, the Vertical Mode.
- Split the screen between two applications.
- Click to the bottom one.
- Click "Back".
- Expected: the bottom application goes back.
- Actual: the same.
- Click to the upper application.
- Click "Back".
- Expected: the upper application goes back.
- Actual: the bottom application goes back.
Even if the keyboard is opened in the upper application, bottom one goes back instead.
Samsung S23 Plus, One UI 6.0 (the latest updates).

It's not the workaround but steps to reproduce the issue. And yes, the buttons order was important
