How come I can not change my screen timeout to never ? See below for issue
Why 10 mins and then I get a "touch to unlock"?
Never had this issue on my s21

Yes I can use developer settings but that's only while charging and then it doesn't go off even when locked if I tap the screen to see time

Can anyone help?
If I have maps on in the car I have to touch the screen every 10 mins to keep it awake ... that's not clever

Samsung can be look into this please and allow people to keep screens on constantly if wanting

Having maps on should mean your screen doesn't turn off.

There is a setting to keep the screen on whilst looking at it.

I don't have the time at the moment, but would it be possible to create a Routine (Settings / Modes and Routines) where when Maps is open, the display doesn't turn off?

@NinaWildeUK: Screen timeout is designed to preserve battery and prevent screen burn, which is why it isn't possible to disable this feature, or select an 'Always on' option. As a possible workaround, please head to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Double tap to turn on screen > On > Keep screen on while viewing > On. If the screen should timeout while you are using it for navigation, the quick double tap of the screen should help to avoid any awkward button presses that might not be possible while in motion. You can also explore the options in Settings > Lock Screen > Smart Lock as a means of keeping your screen unlocked near certain locations or devices.

Why has this all changed since my previous phone?
I can have that open as long as I like and never have to swipe to unlock.
I shouldn't need a routine or mode
I never had one before and it was fine

Someone else mentioned a setting in Maps to keep the display on.

I should have the option of never having to swipe to unlock. I don't have to on my old Samsung so why I suddenly do now is beyond me
I don't want that option to ever pop up

Where is the setting to fully remove "swipe to unlock" after a few mins of having any app open without touching ?

@NinaWildeUK: You can set your screen timeout to a maximum of 10 minutes via Settings > Display > Screen timeout > 10 minutes. Have you explored the driving mode settings provided by @davehorne to see if you're able to work around the issue in this manner?

10 mins doesn't work. This happens after 3 no matter what. How do I stop this exact thing. ??
Not just while driving but no matter what when phone is left open Screenshot_20231001_105825_Pokmon GO.jpg
