Samsung T7 1tb

I have recently purchased a Samsung T7 device. 

I have downloaded the app to my s23 ultra but after setting up it won't open 😒 

Is there something else I need to do ?

Hi, Yes I have the app... I did all that was required ie user name and password... but when I tried to login it opened at password but will not allow me to type in anything 😒
Okay let's see if we can resolve this issue...

Okay so I just tried again and it allowed me to login..but it does nothing...

Now it is telling me to restart my phone.....but again nothing happens..

To use the SSD, you don't need the app. The app on the phone has limited functionality (to setup password and fingerprint).

Once you connect the SSD to your phone, you can view/add/remove files from My Files app.

Uninstall the app, reboot and connect the drive. Does the green led on the drive light up? If yes, you should get a connection notification and should be able to see the drive in My Files. If you want to use the Samsung software, get it from Play Store and not via the Web link Samsung provides with the drive.
