Samsung S23 - Apps auto opening on fingerprint unlock

Hi all

I have Android 14 with One UI 6.0

I have noticed a strange intermittent issue. When I unlock my phone using fingerprint it automatically opens a random app on my phone that I never explicitly opened myself. It's usually facebook.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I have had the exact same issue ever since the android upgrade to v14. It NEVER happened before then.

Yes the apps that open are ones on my home screen but they are also not directly under the fingerprint scanner, 2 that open are above to the left and right.

I also have this same issue and have been watching it closely. The apps that open are not associated with fingerprint location and they are not in my app drawer. But it has never opened an app that isn't on my homepage. 

I have filed a bug report.

I sent this as the body of my email with the report, in case anyone wants to copy/paste for their report.

"When the phone is unlocked using fingerprint, the phone opens to a random app instead of the home screen. The app that is opened is always one of the apps that has a shortcut on the home screen, and that shortcut icon may not be anywhere near the fingerprint location. They are not apps in the app drawer either. The apps that open are most often recently used apps."

My S23+ just randomly started doing the same thing, when either I unlock my phone with any of the lock options even just the swipe up action. I will instantly get a pop up saying "Cmplete Action" and there are two options Chrome or Samgung Internet, I ignored it but started getting very annoying so I chose one. Now I no longer have the complete action pop up, The int r net pops up instead and to the same link- Cash app. I went through my entire phone resetting network, setting  data  cleared cashe even a hard reset I had no luck so I had a Samsung Agent try to help but they tried and also failed. 

I'm hoping theres a simple solution for difficult problem.

Please send in an error report via our Samsung Members so that our engineers can look into this further. Head into Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports. When doing so, please ensure it's within 15 minutes of experiencing the issue, alongside attaching the error log. Once they review this, our colleagues will be in touch.

Thank you for the reply but I cannot find "Samsung Members" anywhere. It's not a listed option in Samsung Community. I've looked all over this site and used search but I cannot find "Samsung Members".

Please provide a link or more information about how to "Head into Samsung Members".

Samsung Members is an app. If it's not already installed, you'll be able to locate this either in Play Store or Galaxy Store.
