Hi, the Samsung email application provides an error when trying to add a MS Outlook account.  The error is that cannot verify account.

I've checked the setting and configuration against my existing S20+ and they are identical for the working app on the S20+. The S23+ refuses to connect to the service though... Is there a bug?

Using the Outlook app is not an option.
Same Problem here. Struggling to add a Office 365 Business account in the Samsung email app.
No detailed error given after "Couldn't very account".
Any progress on this issue?

You are incorrect in this statement, and this definitely shouldn't be marked as the answer. Outlook uses Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.

Here's the link to the setup guide directly from Microsoft which directs you to choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync when prompted for the account type:
Set up email in Android email app - Microsoft Support (Select the Samsung Email app tab if it doesn't load to it using the link)

IMAP/POP both use basic authentication, which Microsoft permanently disabled on Oct 1, 2022. Quoted from the link below, "Modern Authentication is ONLY supported for Exchange profiles (MAPI/HTTP and EWS)", so if you ARE trying to use IMAP/POP for configuring your account that would also be your problem.

Can't connect to Outlook with POP/IMAP and Modern authentication - Exchange | Microsoft Learn

And lastly, completely disregarding a suggestion that would clearly fix your problem, because you have a preference for a specific app, is just silly. If you would've just TRIED using it to determine if it worked (which I can almost guarantee it will), you would've at least been able to provide more information to help with troubleshooting, and possibly determined the problem on your own.

I tried the Outlook app and it fails the same way... Error 2002, whatever that is.

I tried Outlook app and Samsung Email app on my Samsung Galaxy S23+ and neither works... same problem with rejecting the server certificate.  This worked on my old Samsung Galaxy Note 20.

Time to give up on Samsung support.  I'm heading back to the Verizon store to replace this with a Google phone.  This is incredibly sad since this is my third Samsung phone and I have been happy with all the previous models.

Hi,

I've had the same problem since my company switched to MFA. The outlook app works correctly but I don't want to use it because it doesn't offer all the facilities of the native app (integration of contacts, overlay of my private and professional diaries, etc.).

Have you found a solution?

Stop giving stupid suggestions please. Outlook mobile app has so many shortcomings it's not even funny, including but not limited to CANNOT SYNC TASKS!

What are you on about Outlook is the best app I have used, you may not agree but that's you entitled to you opinion you don't get to tell me how I feel and opinion
I use Outlook app with office 365, all calendar and task sync.

With Gmail it's Google that stop syncing so maybe you should do some research before make such comments

I suggest you stop.
