Hi, the Samsung email application provides an error when trying to add a MS Outlook account.  The error is that cannot verify account.

I've checked the setting and configuration against my existing S20+ and they are identical for the working app on the S20+. The S23+ refuses to connect to the service though... Is there a bug?

Outlook uses imap as default. You don't need use the outlook app as there are better alternatives out there.

Have you 2FA on your outlook? If so go onto your office account and create an app password. Use this password in place of your normal password.
I don't use Samsung email but other 3rd party email app and it works. Also have you tried through the outlook app?

Hi, yes I'd also tried that but to no avail, the samsung email app fails when trying to find the server details. Ive even added those manually with or without app password.  Running through the setup does request the account be authenticated via MFA which is performing, its then the email app fails.  Sets up fine on my S20+

If u have MFA enabled you need to set app password to connect. Have you tried through Gmail, Outlook or another email app (I use fair email and that works)

Outlook itself works, to be fair I'm getting lots of odd issues with this new phone, Outlook doesn't create notifications, other apps do. DND doesn't work, even with DND enabled to not allow any calls they still ring the phone.  The issues I'm having are beginning to become more than just this email, app

Did you transfer from another phone using smartswitch? I had to reset some apps after switching from the S20FE5G to the S23U.
Some apps automatically went into sleep mode based on my old phone so had to make changes.
I have DND setup and it seems to be working with only certain alerts and contacts that override it.

I did use smartswitch.  I've just reset the phone from scratch, DND now seems to be doing what it should but not the email application.  I'm assuming this is more a Microsoft issue than the phone app to be honest.  Adding Gmail to the Samsung email app works perfectly well.

I removed from O365 The samsung permission to access email etc. I re ran the email setup in the Samsung email application, it runs thru the setup, askes for the permissions to allow samsung to access email, checks the incoming server settings at which point it fails with unable to verify your server or account.  So it is at least connecting to MS but then failing on server settings. I've manually added them too but still no luck. Very puzzling.

Is your outlook setup as imap or pop3. I think you have to use imap these says for outlook emails from 3rd party apps but I could be wrong. Also is it using the correct ports and security settings.
Actually I had similar setting up Fair Email. It took username and password then the confirmation for 2FA. Microsoft accepted it but Fair Email failed. I then setup a password in my Microsoft account. If you go to security and add an app password. Make sure you set it up or cooy the password before you click done as you won't get it back.
Then in Fair Email I set the account up using my email address and the app password I got. And it been working since.

I would suggest using the Outlook app instead of Samsung app

Outlook.com uses and exchange connector not pop or imap
