Hey

Sorry to hear this.

Factory Data Reset and set up your phone fresh without copying anything on to it from a back up.

Change all passwords.

Notify your banks and card companies to cancel and replace cards and accounts.

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

The only possible way to get hacked is by being tricked into installing something/ being phished into allowing access. Samsungs security is absolutely air tight....unless one is tricked into granting access. This would be the same regardless of brand. *this being said, I dont mean this was on you- my brother almost got hacked...and I dont blame him, the way they went around it was scary good. Luckily his bank realised.

This is very unfortunate, and to be honest, I think it's best to involve the authorities.

Are you signed into your email address on another device? The first thing to do would be to reset all your account passwords.

Then, factory reset your device—I would suggest using Samsung Find or the factory reset option on your smartphone using the buttons.
https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-perform-factory-reset-on-my-mobile-device...

Before performing a factory reset, I would contact the authorities regarding the cybercrime and get advice from them directly.

UK government advice:

Cyber support—Action Fraud

I've sent support in the past to someone who's been hacked—this was my response.

*This all being said, if you've already reset passwords and contacted your bank to cancel cards, a factory reset should suffice. I would also look into antivirus software with ID theft protection.

I personally have experience with McAfee Premium, but I know there is controversy surrounding it. There are also Bitdefender Total Security, Norton 360 Deluxe, and Avast One Gold. There are a lot of options, and the best way would be to do some personal research to see which suits you most. *security *budget *needs
