S23 Ultra USB for file transfer not showing up

There is a bug whereby the USB for file transfer not showing up after plugging USB to the laptop. It only allows you to charge the phone. Without the detection, you are unable to transfer file (phone to laptop) or use Android Auto. The only workaround is to plug on the USB and restart your phone, then the USB for file transfer will only show up.

Please help - S23 not connecting via USB : r/samsunggalaxy (reddit.com)

Hope Samsung will come out with a fix.

Your last screenshot hasn't got anything toggled for " USB Controlled by". You need to choose one of those options. "Connected device" to have the notification pop up on the connected device or "This Device" to have the pop up show on the phone.

The radio buttons was grey out. There is no way I can select then.

Have you tried different USB Cables?

Yes. I tried up to 3 different USB-A to Type-C cables. All are good quality cables.

I see. Then the only other suggestions I have are:

A) Try cleaning out your USB port on the phone, just make sure there is no debris of any kind

B) if possible, try connecting the phone to another device/computer, using a type C to type C cable if also possible

The S23 Ultra comes supplied with a USB-C to USB-C cable. Ideally, It is that cable you should be using to connect to your laptop. Have you not got this cable anymore? Does your laptop have a USB-C port?

Have you got Auto blocker switched on in settings? This can block file transfers etc. Let me know. 1710462293679_1710462293672_0.jpg

Both my laptop and car doesn't support type c port. I think the design should allow non type port work as well if indeed type c port is the issue.

The same issue has started just recently in our company with multiple Androids (Samsung A54 and similar Samsung models), these phones are used in our factory production and we take photos which up until days ago worked to transfer via USB cable to PC's. This does not work anymore. We have no clue other than some OS change most likely in Android or otherwise in Windows but less likely. We have not yet tried the suggested workaround to restart the phone with the USB plugged in. Any advice much appreciated.
