S23 Ultra Unnecessary heating

Hey everyone,

I noticed that after the recent (couple of) updates, my s23 Ultra is heating up unnecessarily high, I'd say. And when it happens - the fps drops significantly, especially if I'm playing a mobile game (for instance ~120/~122fps down to 60 or even <60).

Even now, my phone is charging and I'm only typing this and doing nothing else (no other apps open) and I can feel the heat on the back. Room temperature isn't even high so that's out of the question really...

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there any solution to the issue?

Thanks everyone!

I can appreciate that your concerned @CurryFlurry

Can you try the following troubleshooting steps please >

  • Make sure your apps and phone are still fully up to date.
  • Go into device care and tap on Optimise Now.
  • Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }
  • Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then long hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode.
  • There is also a diagnostic tool in your Samsung Members App.
  • " Ask a question " can be sent via your Samsung Members App, which goes directly to Samsung.

Please do let us know how you get on.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
