I upgraded from the S22+ to the S23 ultra. Ever since I upgraded my messages don't indicate sent nor read! It's driving me crazy. Anyone else having this issue. I've called Samsung and Tmobile and no one has answers. I was given the run around by Samsung. I was told to go to my carrier (Tmobile) and have them activate the RCS. I went to Tmobile and they had no idea. I called samsung numerous times trying to get this figured out and nothing! I personally don't like Google messages so i would really like to get samsung figured out!

I 1000% cannot stand when people ask me this question I'm having the same exact problem with my phone. Do you not think that would be the very first thing that we did? Not trying to be rude but just come on now you got to do better than that.

So nobody has found a solution to this problem? I had went from the s22 plus to the s23 plus and I'm having the same exact problems yeah it gives me options to show when delivered but that just means it notifies you every time every message is sent it doesn't show you the "read" or "typing" preview like it does on something similar on Facebook Messenger. It's kind of frustrating because you would think that the newer phone would be better I also was told to contact my carrier which is Verizon they have no idea I thought I just maybe got a defective phone cuz I've had that happen before but apparently I'm not the only one with this issue. This sounds like a Samsung problem and Samsung needs to be the ones to fix it. Why would I continue to get more Samsung phones if they can't guarantee that the newer one is better than the older one? If I had the option to go back to my s22 plus I absolutely would cuz I like it better than the s23 plus but if you are like me and can't afford a 1200 phone that will soon be reduced down to $300 when the new one comes out you lease it out so I don't have the option to do that. Samsung get your ***** together and either respond to these messages to fix their problem. But from what I've been reading a lot recently is that Samsung and iPhone are actually going to be combining here soon. IPhone is now making all of their new iPhones I'll take a type c charger, but did you know that now Samsung's s24 model is going to have all titanium which is like every iPhone ever made. Coincidence? I think not maybe if they spent more time answering our questions instead of teaming up with iPhone maybe we wouldn't have these problems 😉 I would say sorry for my witty remarks but then again you do see my username, don't you? 😂Have a good day and people you're not alone I'm just as frustrated!

I am having some of the same issues. I have the S23 ultra thru Verizon. I actually use the Verizon texting app called Message + and I notice that the read/sent receipts only work for some of my contacts. I have a friend who has an older Android (I don't the make/model) but his service is thru ATT&T and he says he doesn't get read receipts when he texts me but he does with his daughter who has a Google Pixel (I don't know if they have the same service or not) and he can get them from her phone.

Thank you for your comment. Im glad someone addressed this. Ive been going crazy trying to figure this abullshyt out. All these smart designers and technicians but clearly not solutions to our problem which seems so simple to other users. Smh!

Solution:
Go to messages > click 3 dots > settings > Advanced Messaging> turn off and back on the Advanced Messaging option.
If this does not work when sending a msg to another Android, have the receiving party follow the same steps. This worked for me.
Periodically you will need to repeat these steps as the read receipt stop.

Ok, so you want to hear something really messed up? Samsung kept pushing Google messaging. I kept saying "not right now." BTW, why can't I say "no?" Anyway, just to make it stop, I ate the mushroom! It was terrible. I had Google messaging for ONE day, and I've switched back to Samsung. I had all my contacts and their individual notifications all set up on Google, but it just suuuuucked!
Back on Samsung with my S23 Ultra that used to tell me when specific people had received, read, and were responding to my messages (I think they were other Samsung users), and now it's GONE!! I can't get it back. There's no setting for it. I've rebooted. Hell, I even had an upgrade to my software yesterday, and that didn't do anything. There's no way to "clear the cache" for texts. And those options for "delivered notification" are just another message. I don't want those :*(
This is only on my end, too. My friend still sees it on her's. This function was awesome, and if Samsung is doing away with it then I might just switch to the dreaded Apple. At least they are consistent.
Anyone find a way to make this work, yet? My patience is at an end.
