Now keep note this phone has been in a case since i got it, and i've been using my "gamesir 3 usb c" the back of the phone already has some minor cosmetic scratches... WTF?
So much for gorilla glass, i don't see or feel any glass, it feels like a bit of plastic and such, my motorola G30 has never scratched this easily, EVER!
WTF?
Keep noted if you don't want your s23 getting ruined, put a skin over it and also use a case, "Vinyl sticker/skin"

edit the back is 100% metal and trash easy to scratch metal

yeah i tried wiping it, never went away... it's 100% a silver looking scratch and as mentioned i even tapped it gently on my tooth the back of the case, 100% metal, even tapped it with the undeside of a spoon gently.. yeah 100% metal..

I fit a dBrand Black Dragon Skin on the back of my phone's even though I always use a case.
This is to stop any marking up of the back and to provide a bit more protection especially if a bit of grit gets between the case and phone as this has the capability of causing minor marking / scratching.
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Mine got also scratched very easily. It didn't fall down, I just had it in my pocket, without having else in it (no key chains etc). Yet, the mighty ultra got scratched

I've had my s23Ultra since launch date, never used screen protectors since the s9 but have had Samsung phones since the Omnia in 2009. I work for a North American cellphone company and have seen plenty of phone conditions.
My s23 Ultra has a case just like my previous phones, it already has surface scratches, some are deeper than others. Never had this issue before. My phone falls off my nightstand but so did my previous device. Maybe stress cracks?

The same with me, this phone is a scratch magnet

This is because mohs scale is dynamic, it's not just 6 then 7 hardness wise, there is 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, etc..... and this is something I really wish he would do better with this so we could actually see what differences phones have.
But also Corning just keeps doing this back and forth thing, GG3 was more scratch resistant, GG4 was slightly more drop resistant at the expense of scratching a bit easier (IMO it was the best balance), then GG5 was scratch easy but good drop protection, Victus is back to better scratch and Victus 2 is back to better drop but worse scratch. It's just, IMO, so they can say something is better than last year but it's mostly just alternating with maybe tiny improvements lol.

Mine have awful scratch on the aluminium frame and I've never dropped it and it's from the beginning with a case... So pity, a great phone, except the paint on the frame...
