I've recently received my s23 ultra upgrading from a dead One Plus 8 Pro and I've been having nothing but battery problems I'm consistently getting 2-3 hours SoT and I see people getting insane 8+ hour SoT and I've no idea why mine is so low the whole reason I upgraded was because of the crazy battery and it has so far been disappointing.

Today I've gotten 40 minutes out of 12% extrapolating that I'll get 6 hours battery and around 3 hours SoT.

Anyone have any advice? (I recieved this device on Wednesday if it matters (now Sunday))

Edit 1:
After letting it run flat it this is battery stats I got yesterday

Not at all. It's the best I've seen. Lasts 3 days. Still on 93% by mid-day.

The first night it drained about 20% whilst sleeping but I'm putting that down to probably downloading and installing apps etc. Since then it's been amazing. How long have you owned the device?

I just got a new Samsung phone and all of them have the mobile hotspot always on as well as sending out a signal so that other devices can see you!
Once I turned these off...the battery was lasting 4 days with moderate use !

What figures are you getting? May be worth posting a screenshot of your usage so we can try and advise.

Tbh from what I've researched over the past week it seems like the battery life is way over hyped , I don't know why people feel the need to lie about it saying its insane etc on youtube ,it's alright but it's nothing spectacular, it's what you'd expect from a phone in this day and age and the 13 pro max I had before this would give me another 4 hour sot easy

In my S23 Ultra the AOD drains battery. February update didn't fix it. And clearing cache partition didn't fix it either.

Only help is not to use AOD.

8 hrs screen on time and 1 day 18hrs screen off time. Total of 2 days 4hrs (I think) use with that screen on time is very good in my book.

I have a samsung galaxy s23 ultra 512gb and have found by 6pm I am having to charge again and I only take the phone off charge at 8am,I'm not a power user either,my s22 ultra wasn't the best but I was expecting a bit better out of this,I had a iphone 14 pro max for a few weeks and have to say it was amazing battery life,I still had about 40% at bed time, wish ide never bothered with this s23 ultra now unless it changes with updates but at the moment I'm quite disappointed with this

You should be able to get much better life than that.
If you've just got the phone. It goes through a learning usage patterns cycle and battery life can be inconsistent during this time.
Can last for a couple of days or upto a week.
Check in the settings under battery and device care
It will give you an idea of what is using the battery more than it should be.
You can also try wiping the Partition Cashe on the phone. This should help.
Especially if you used Smartswitch wirelessly to transfer data from your old phone
