It depends what you use your phone for. The S23 will have a Snapdragon processor which in the UK we never got. Samsung used its own Exynos chip here. The Snapdragon is much faster and the new one will be even faster. If you need the speed it would we worth upgrading. The other big difference are the cameras, but here again it depends on whether you take lots of photos. There are already quite a few comparison reviews on YouTube to help you decide

In a similar situation here. I think you're probably best sticking with the s22, the s23 is an incremental upgrade so there's very little that has changed other than the chipset and it's design.

Now these are valid reason to upgrade as you'll be getting the latest "optimised" chipset for the phone, with a few more years of updates and security patches. But really the differences are small. If you look at it on paper you're not getting as much as you'd expect or deserve from a flagship of its price and modernity. The s22 (from my knowledge) is a solid series and as nice as it is to have the latest stuff, it might not be worth it.

If you have an s22 and are looking at an s23, I'd think you'd be better of saving yourself the expense. But if like me, you have a mid-range (A series) phone or a more dated device like the s20 or s21, then the upgrade might be worth it just for the sake of software support and a newer, more refined chipset.

It really is down to if the new features would be what you need.
It seems that the cameras are improved.

As much as I'd like to get the S23 Ultra. My S22 Ultra with its website exclusive colour does just what I want from it.

In real world use, the new Snapdragon chipset is neither here nor there for me.
My Exynos chipset has been brilliant for me and I have never had a situation where I thought I'd need more power.

The new camera features may tempt me later on. Never know.

From the S22U, I wouldn't have thought so, as long as you're happy with it!

For myself, I'm upgrading from the S22 to the S23 in the hope that I receive a faster phone (it's not bad, but there have been times it's been laggy) and a battery that can make it to the end of the day...which it really struggles to right now.

I doubt I'd upgrade otherwise.

Samsung are offering such a good discount with trade in to upgrade, so I couldn't resist & have upgraded S22 ultra to S23 ULTRA.
