Hi all! Yesterday (Fri 27-Sep) my S23 started unexpectedly overheating to the point it was too hot to touch (just use it for browsing, podcasts and email -no power intensive apps used). I turned it off in hope it would cool down but following morning when I tried to turn back on it wouldn’t come on. I tried charging the whole morning but just got the lightning icon and grey circle around it with no suggestion of any charge going in. I went through usual steps with Samsung uk support trying different chargers, pressing power and down volume, etc but nothing worked so being shipped to repair centre with 11 days expected turnaround…I’ve only had it for about a year! -ridiculous! Last phone was an iPhone that I had for 4 years and was still going strong!
Has anybody had a similar issue?

Hello @Members_tWwzLRk and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum Section for Uk and Eu Members 👋
I'm sorry to hear of the issues your currently experiencing with your phone. 😔
Sometimes an app can cause these issues so when a person submits a post to talk about such issues, I and other members typically suggest the following troubleshooting steps.
Samsung and other manufacturers provide Manufacturer's Warranty to help deal with non accidental issues, which in the UK is 2 years.
Any phone whether it be an Android or iPhone can suffer issues.
I'm sure you would agree that having an iPhone for a length of time that didn't present issues really isn't a indication that an iPhone won't present issues at any point.
Would you let us all know how you get on please.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Thank you for the links but the phone won’t charge or turn on. Prior to the overheating and turning off the phone it still had lots of charge left so was surprised when it then wouldn’t turn on at all. Even more surprised when it then wouldn’t even charge. Was just saying that never had any previous smartphone completely pack up like this.
