How can I remove the voicemail notification? I don't use this service, don't have access to it and don't have any messages left. Here's what I tried but nothing helped:

  • restart phone
  • removing/re-inserting SIM card with consecutive phone restarts
  • holding 1 to listen to voicemail
  • trying to listen voicemail by taping on notification
  • trying to stop notification for voicemail (it's grayed out/disabled ?!)
  • trying to stop notification for phone application (it's grayed out/disabled)
  • force stop phone application
  • clear data and cache for phone application

It's really annoying and I've no idea why the bloody "Allow notifications" for Voicemail is disabled. I know Phone is a system application but this is ridiculous.

Go to Settings > Apps > Show System Apps > Phone Services > Clear Data, that should solve the issue!

This is the last point that I tried (see above) - still nothing

The Phone application and Phone Services application are two different things, if you clear data and cache for Phone Services it'll fix the issue

This solves the problem until phone restart. What I had in mind is something that will remove this permanently. Like enabling the Allow notifications for Voicemail to be able to turn it off completely.

I've tried the above and it doesn't work. Notification still there. I'm not listening to the voicemail from abroad at £2.60 a minute. Any other way of clearing the voicemail?

Hi, @stepsrl68. I appreciate that, as you're aboard, you might not be able to do this yet. However, another way to get rid of the voicemail notification (if the other methods don't work, of course) is to call your number from your own phone, leave a voicemail message, access your voicemail, and delete the message. Once you do this, the notification will disappear.

Hi @stepsrl68 ,

with the update to Android 14, removing the notification by swiping seems to be fixed. Yes, it appears often, but now can be easily removed. Unfortunately, "Allowed notifications" switch is still grayed out in Phone application and turned on (always).

Yeah this is really annoying, escpially for those of us who were promised Android 14 for our Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G model, less than a few yrs old... Yet nothing.
