"Extend Unlock" not working with "Trusted Places" (i.e., Home)

On my Samsung S23 Ultra (through Verizon), the "Extend Unlock" feature is not working with "Trusted Places" (set to my home address selected using Google Maps) while I am home. Even with that set in "Trusted Places" (and being there!), I'm having to enter my phone's 4-digit PIN *each* time I turn on my phone -- even if it's a minute after it was on the previous time. (I also have a "Trusted Device" specified (my laptop which is almost always running), but my phone doesn't appear to recognize that either as I still have to input my phone's 4-digit PIN each time I turn it on.) This is very frustrating!

Hi - sorry, I can't find what you've done, exactly, to make it work for you?

Reading through all the suggestions and advice on this thread  (and having tried several - though not all - myself) it seems that *nothing anyone else has tried has worked reliably for them (the reason I haven't tried all of the suggestions has been that other people have already found them ineffective).

To recap my own situation: I have a new zflip 6, have entered my home address as a Trusted Place in Extend Unlock (as both a street address and a Google maps coordinate), but - as with almost all others on this thread, collectively using a variety of different Samsung models - I still have to unlock it manually, even while I'm home, every single time I want to use it. Every. Single. Time. Even when I haven't left the house.

Also, I am unable to delete or disable my Home address now, inside Trusted Places (I can only toggle it "on" or "off") - so I can't even re-set it. When I try, it just tells me that my address is *already a "Trusted Place."

Can you please tell us what exactly you've done to make this work for you?

thanks so much -

Can I also mention that I had the same problem. I've since discovered that where the email address for the account is showing as the default, somehow defaults to an account I set up for my dad. So I have to keep switching it back to mine. I have 3 of my own email addresses and it keeps defaulting to my dad's? It's very strange as I don't know why it does that?

Good info, thanks for sharing. Probably no one knows.

Oh jeez. (I thought maybe it was an account email thing for me at one point, too, and made sure both of them had my home address listed as Trusted... but alas.

PS Yesterday I tried the trick someone else had suggested, of adding a couple of neighbors' addresses to Trusted Places, just to widen the range.

But that didn't help either... 😞

I've since found that the extend lock feature only supposidly lasts for 4 hours. If you don't use your phone in that time, the pin code is required.
I think its a poorly thought out feature tbh. Ah well.
