So wanted to share this with you to ask if you think this is right and also ask what do you think I should do going forward.

My samsung galaxy S23 Ultra phone has been having a few issues last few weeks and I noticed a few apps i haven't downloaded and that I cant uninstall either as well as it also been really baggy, so today took my phone back to o2 where I purchased it from to ask for some help on this matter.
First of all they said it was my case lol even though I had the case since I had the phone which I might add is nearly 2 years ๐Ÿ˜… then was asked to take a seat with a tech guy who took a deeper look into my device and he said looks like it might have a deeper virus and that they couldn't do anything and to go across the road to a shop where I have to pay to get it removed and say he sent me and I might get a discount to remove said deep virus ๐Ÿ˜•
Now first of all of this is the case why cant o2 remove this if that being the case or better still why should I actually be paying for this myself when im on a contract with o2 and brought my device from them ๐Ÿค”

Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance ๐Ÿ™

It's Samsung's app, based on the permissions I assume it has something to do with Microsoft's One Drive for storing pictures and videos, or shared albums with all your devices (comp, tablet etc)

Please make sure the phone memory is not almost full; if so, this lag problem can occur.

Resetting the phone - I mean a full factory reset, will kick out all viruses or malware if any are present. Then install only extremely necessary apps and observe for a day or two. If the phone still hangs, that's definitely a hardware problem. Be careful to install apps only from the app store. Confidently take the phone back to the store, tell them I have done a factory default and the phone still hangs and demand for a fix or replacement.

It can be a phone hardware problem as well. If the chips and PCBs inside are not in very good condition, the digital components can malfunction, and the phone will work hard to compensate, causing lag and heating. This can be fixed only by hardware repair or swaps.

This is what AI says about the app. Just looked and don't have it on my S25 ultra

MFContents app, which is related to Samsung Find (formerly Samsung Find My Mobile or SmartThings Find).

Purpose:

Samsung Find is a service that helps users locate, lock, and manage their Samsung Galaxy devices remotely if they are lost or stolen.

Features:

It allows users to find their phone's location on a map, lock the screen, display a message, activate a ringing sound, back up data, and even erase data remotely.

Offline Finding:

A key feature is "Offline finding," which allows other Galaxy devices to help locate a lost device even if it's not connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi, by acting as "Find Nodes".

Device Compatibility:

Samsung Find can be used to locate various Galaxy devices, including phones, tablets, watches, earbuds, and SmartTags.

I only install apps from Google play store no where else either think I need to go back and speak to someone else.My phone is in perfect condition no water damage has never been dropped either so really am at a loose as to what to do but thanks for your help ๐Ÿ™

Is the phone still under warranty? Can't you process a warranty claim?

Another way the phone can be damaged is by moisture. I can suggest that it can happen if you keep the phone near the AC vent of the car. When you take it back, the phone will be extremely cool. Water droplets will appear due to condensation from the atmosphere. It can happen inside the phone as well. These trapped water droplets can damage the PCB. If you are keeping the phone daily near the car air vent, this could be a reason.

As 02 shop workers/ most retailers dont know as much as youd expect....normally the most training they get is how to sell, and make the most sales- and "not knowing" comes off as negative so they guess but state it with confidence.
