OneUI Updates

According to a recent study, Samsung has been falling behind in terms of OS version updates for the previous 1-2 years. It was pretty good with updating a few years ago, but currently, when compared to other brands, Samsung is falling behind with latest Android version releases. I agree that it is aiming to optimize the OTA before releasing it to the public. Consider the other brands; they may not be as large as Samsung, but those firms are working hard to provide updated Android versions. Samsung is not even considering its flagship smartphones. I understand that optimization and bug-free operating systems make a big difference, but how can other firms accomplish it faster than Samsung? As a major business in terms of market share, you must be faster and more optimized than others. I'm not sure why you guys spend so much time developing new Android versions when there are no new features. In comparison to OneUI 4 and 5, there were few changes to the UI and new functionality. I don't anticipate any major UI modifications or additions in the future OneUI 6.

I don't know where this study you speak of but i have found Samsung has been on par if not better than other with releases

It's understandable that owners want updates especially security updates as soon as possible and new or enhanced features in the software updates.

Incremental updates help with bug fixes and stability. 

Personally I want updates that are as clean of bugs as possible so am happy to wait.

I have to disagree on the whole... I find samsung updates every single month are timely and generally pretty good.

Occasionally a monthly update is delayed slightly, perhaps after finding a bug and needing resolution.

4 years of operating system updates from samsung ? I don't think any other manufacturer are offering ?

This is also not just vanilla android and requires the Samsung layer of OneUI adding to it beforehand.

Why does it take samsung so long you ask ? I consider them stable and when you think about all the different phones they have in their portfolio and the large amount of locations that regional differences need to be tested, I think the job in testing all these phones and locations must be a massive effort... for every new software update.

Having had past 4 or 5 phones as samsung, I see them as a provider of reliable and good support for software updates, and other than the odd early bug... reliable.

Perhaps we have a different opinion on this 👍

Smaller companies with less phones in their portfolio and without adding additional UI functions of their own, will likely have a much smaller task of testing the software. And how many other companies offer 4 years of operating system updates ?

100% agree. Samsung has gone downhill over past year with updates etc. Even the S23 flagship aren't receiving updates in a timely manner at the minute.

No they aren't falling behind I find Samsung to be the best. Even many updates coming before Google

Move to someone else then if you think Samsung clag behind the rest of the industry. Samsung takes it's time so it can be near perfect not like so the the smaller ones Google pixel.
