These sections are greyed out so cannot switch on. However, I can and do receive calls and messages in UK, but was unable to make phone calls when abroad (despite having roaming data).
I have tried a few things I have read such a network reset, took out the sim card. I only have the one physical sim card. System is up to date. I need to have this fixed obviously for future abroad trips. Help/advice appreciated.

@Members_51CfmxH: Try heading to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Data roaming, and toggle this option on. While you're here, tap on 'Network operators' and toggle on 'Select automatically'.
When you are abroad, can you see your assigned network in the top left corner of your lock screen? Furthermore, do you receive a text message from your network, or a local network, to inform you that you have network coverage in that country/region?

Thank you. It was just in Europe and yes I received the text message and I was able to go online but could not make any calls. A friend with the same phone looked at mine and the only thing we could see different was in sim manager I had data but calls and messages greyed out. However, since being home I have received calls and texts.
SIM tray/card fine as far as I can see - but perhaps an option is to go back to mobile shop and ask them to try a different sim. If that new sim shows up calls and texts we can assume its the sim card? if not - a phone fault?
