NFC not working on Google Pay

I added my card onto Google pay and can't get it to work on NFC readers. The same card works fine using Google pay on my old phone. Do I need to delete the card on my old phone?

I've got Google Wallet (previously known at Pay) installed with the same card on my old OnePlus phone, as well as my S23 Ultra, so I don't think it's the card at fault here. May be worth uninstalling Wallet and reinstalling it, then register you card again if it prompts you. Also, ensure Google Wallet is definitely your default payment under NFC Payments.

Does it make 2 different virtual card numbers for the same card? I thought it would be the same number

A virtual number is generated to protect your card from being displayed or submitted

It worked! I wiped the data, uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled. The card was still there but with a new number which now works, thanks. Don't know why it didn't work to begin with, but at least it fixed it 👍

I did the same except uninstalling the Google Wallet App on my S23 Ultra - simply cleared the Cache and Data - when I relaunched the Wallet App it then worked perfectly - thanks!

Mine just stopped working as well. I've reset everything as far as cards go and nothing.
