WHY S23 Ultra with OneUI 8.0 stuck on Google Play System update from July 2025

Why is my S23 Ultra with OneUI 8.0 stuck on Google Play System update from July 2025?

I have S23 Ultra running OneUI 8.0 with September 2025 Security patch. Yet, my Google Pay System update is stuck on 1 July 2025.

I have cleared Google Play Services and Google Play store cache and data multiple times. 

Removed and added Google account multiple times. And obviously, restarted the devices over 20 times. Still no ***** Google Play System Update for September 2025. 

Before some genius blames OneUI 8.0, let's make it clear that OneUI 8.0 arrived on S23 Ultra in Oct. So Play System Update stopped updating in August.

By comparison, Tab S8 Ultra has already received 1 September 2025 Google Play System update. 

What gives?

Treat google play system updates as bonus updates, not important updates.

They come from google and tweak google things. They aren't exactly super important. As for them being delayed, happens loads. As far as I'm aware, the reason is probably that whatever google is trying to change causes issues with samsung, so they are paused
