I have been considering switching from my S22 to an S23+ because honestly the battery life, speed and overheating has become a persistent problem. (TLDR at bottom.)
In my opinion, anyone considering switching from an S22 but might be short on budget should opt to get one of these, mainly because:
1. Chip - The S22 series has an Exynos 2200 chip, and these are notorious for very bad temperature control, speed and battery life. I wouldn't get a phone with an Exynos chip as these are plainly rubbish. The S23 series only offers a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which are miles ahead of their Exynos counterparts, and with the 'for Galaxy' edition, these are just better honestly.
2. Battery life - The base series Samsung S series phones (Phones without a plus or Ultra) have very bad battery life, especially the older ones like my S22. S22 has a 3700 Mah battery, and S23 has a 3900 Mah battery. In, conclusion, these are not good battery lives. S22 claims to have a '7 - 8 hour battery', but mine struggles to get 3 hours.' The plus series is the best solution for this, with the S22+ and S23+ having a 4500 Mah and 4700 Mah battery respectively. Added with the chip I mentioned earlier, S23+ should have a way better battery then my S22 right now.
3. Additional perks - The S23+ offers a 256GB starting storage, with a 512GB offer too. S22 however has only 128 and 256GB. Also, the S23 series will get one more major update, getting to One UI 9 instead of One UI 8.
------------------------------------------------------------------
TLDR -
The S23+ stars a 4700Mah battery, a higher base storage and a miles better chip than the S22. If you are okay having a bigger phone, but a better ease of use, less overheating and more storage. The S23+ is a star pick.
