"Upgraded" to S23. I can not access pictures from Google Photos app anymore.

I have a lot of images stored there and a paid storage plan.

The Stock Gallery app only allows me to sync with MS OneDrive.

I can not upload Google Photos images using Media Picker, can not use my old pics as Wallpapers.

I'm HUGELY disappointed. Had I known that earlier I would buy Pixel 8.

You should be able to download Google Photos app from the store which would then allow for the rest of what you raise here. 😊

Samsung Ecosystem typically allows both photo apps to run in parallel. So you should have no problem in syncing your new Samsung phone to Google photos.

You can use the Google Photo's on your device along side the Samsung Gallery and Microsoft onedrive app.

Totally echo what others have said

I move from pixels and Samsung and vice versa like butter.

I even turn my Samsung into a glorified Google phone sometimes.

As mentioned download Google photos and all your photos will be there if you had backed them up I Google photos.

Only thing is they want sync to the Samsung gallery unless you download them manually.

Thanks for suggestion. Of course I have Google Photos downloaded and configured as Cloud App. While this solves at least some problems, the experience with having GPhotos as my gallery is suboptimal.

To copy all my images to OneDrive, as some posters suggested, I would need to purchase another  subscription to expand the storage space.

There are still unsolved problems.

It is impossible to select only Drive images in image picker. It is impossible to directly upload images from Facebook client. In addition, somehow small, its impossible to choose a wallpaper from Google Photos.

I have been trying to push Samsung to give users choice between one drive and Google photos in the gallery options.

Will have to see if they do it.

It would be nice to have options.

Some people seem to have both one drive and Google photos.

I guess one drive is a good choice as a family options and it's ability to sync with Samsung gallery.

I prefer Google one for reasons mentioned in my previous post.

Yes it has its limitations but works for me.
