Lack of Super HDR in OneUI6.1

Hi community, a lot of people seem to not know that our devices didn't get a crucial qol update, Super HDR is apparently absent from our devices in oneui6.1, it's a shame especially when iPhone users got it as an update after the S24 launch in a lot of previous Gen devices,  it's a feature that is the way forward, pixels got it too, we have the hardware to support it, and the algorithms should be hardware agnostic(HDR display excluded).

As a hobbyist photographer I am really bummed, but even for casual everyday users it's a great update as their photography experience in all these devices will automatically be upgraded, it's 2024, we must be able to preview photos is HDR.

Come on samsung...

I hope this will get fixed.

am happy we got the ai ones but for me and a lot of people this one is probably more useful eve

Because they want to sell S24.

Like anyone would choose to buy the S24 over a feature they'll probably have no idea about...

I mean seriously the delusional mindset you hold over this features importance is staggering.

Not really into the real world huh?

People buy phones and devices based on checkboxes, and what the brand sells as feature, that's how the market works, the official page has it as a feature to promote the device and sell it, but now everything makes sense since I saw your profile.

2000 Comments 20 Solutions, it's funny really.

Have a nice day my guy.

Really? That's how the world works? So Iphones were selling like hot cakes despite no SD card slot, no usb c, a super ugly chin, no headphone jack, and no OLED for over a decade. Anything more I missed?

Also post a link to this claim about Super HDR being a marked feature of the S23 series or before.

And what about my profile? Does that change anything I've stated or asked from you? Amusing how you assume any response is made based on some presumed information about the person you write to. Also, in case you hadn't noticed, this forum is a Samsung Members forum which kinda suggests what you think should be outright assumed to begin with. Now I'm not saying I'm a fan boy, or not, I'm just a fan of technology. Samsung do tend to tick all the right boxes for me and it's why I've always picked them over the competition. But regardless of being a fan or not, I don't see how any of what I've said to you skews any of my responses in any way.

Ok you must be a kid, we talk about a software feature that Samsung uses to market their device and Apple is the master of that since it's inception, using gimmicks as innovations, Retina Display, Taptic Engine, TouchID, FaceID, Spatial Audio, ProRes, Lightning, Motion Co-processor, 3D Touch, LIQUID RETINA, Super Retina, yadayada Retina, a sh!tload of useless SW features rebranded and sold as innovations, which you would probably say are NICHE, yet, that's how they made their brand so strong, that's their presentations since 2007, but an actual feature isn't a marketing asset apparently.

You don't know what you are talking about, you have lost any sense of rationality just because I came here and said I want Ultra HDR for the S23 Users,  you insist on what?

I'll give you what you want:

SUPER HDR IS A GIMMICK, A USELESS Feature, people please just use the brightness slider, Samsung just brings useless features to the masses, and they shouldn't update their older phones to support it unlike bad apple and bad google who did it up to 4 previous gens of phones, they just clutter their devices with niche features that obviously noone knows and wants, heck,I'll say remove the speaker, it's too niche, people just text next time, keep it minimal.

Feeling better?

No, I asked you to prove that the S23 supported SDR dimming to which you have no evidence. You say it's just a software block limitation by Samsung, so prove it.

Hopefully they'll backtrack on this.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS23/comments/1btxsa4/super_hdr_news_from_sammobile/

Also from the same article, something i've missed:

as even mid-range phones like Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 support that feature.

Samsung are just complete liars... Saying the S23 hardware doesn't support the super HDR when two midrange phones have it. I'll be disappointed in Samsung if they don't listen to us and bring this to the S23 series.

This is not solution and has nothing to do with proper tone mapping and different exposure levels. Images in instagram look stunning on my ancient iPhone 12 from which I've switched to the S23 Ultra. Back then Samsung said they're working with Meta to provide HDR in Videos and potentially images. Samsung managed to release super HDR to low end devices which target kids, but not on the previous flagship?! The 5 years support is pure rip off. They would shove features which thry can milk on like the AI ***** which would become paid.

I guess... back to Apple then. Not to mention that this garbage android doesn't have software for Mac and I can't even properly browse my photos on Mac. If you want good android experience buy some chineese phone.

If it meant all that much to you, why did you switch to an S23 in the first place?
