Lack of Super HDR in OneUI6.1

Hi community, a lot of people seem to not know that our devices didn't get a crucial qol update, Super HDR is apparently absent from our devices in oneui6.1, it's a shame especially when iPhone users got it as an update after the S24 launch in a lot of previous Gen devices,  it's a feature that is the way forward, pixels got it too, we have the hardware to support it, and the algorithms should be hardware agnostic(HDR display excluded).

As a hobbyist photographer I am really bummed, but even for casual everyday users it's a great update as their photography experience in all these devices will automatically be upgraded, it's 2024, we must be able to preview photos is HDR.

Come on samsung...

I hope this will get fixed.

am happy we got the ai ones but for me and a lot of people this one is probably more useful eve

Hopefully it will come this year, along with other camera updates. I love the camera, just needs a bit more refining.

Please Samsung, that would be a great addition to all S23 users and we would really appreciate it.

It's so useful I intentionally disable it...

But honestly it's a bit annoying in many ways as it changes the look of an original photo that it becomes a bit distracting, especially if you're comparing it alongside another device. Wouldn't say you're missing too much, but obviously a bummer older devices never got it (yet at least).

It's literally an android 14 feature, not a Samsung invention, their SUPER HDR is based, or actually better said, the Ultra HDR protocol, open sourced.

The implementation should be 2 flags to be enabled and a compatible gallery app, probably some min max nits values as well.

It's a bad move no matter how you see it.

@Joeeye

It's the proper way though, I, personally, want the SDR dimming and the HDR viewing capabilities as I am a photo hobbyist, a lot of people buy these phones for these capabilities as Samsung market them as pro grade tools as well.

Nor to mention even iPhone 12 supports it now, I guess.

Even pixel 4a got it. Hope they just forgot about it and it will be included, else i'll  probably just get an apple device next time.

Sorry for the triple posting but I got a lame answer after I searched for a bit.

This simply ain't true, and it's a misleading answer.

Pixel 4a with a snapdragon 730G and specs of 2020 can support it but S23U can't?

This is a pure lie, Samsung....

You know I could just manually push up brightness which pretty much looks the same anyway. Not something I'd really call crucial in any sense.
