Issues with sound through USB-C port

I've been having trouble for a while now with my S23 Ultra. Charges absolutely fine through the USB-C port, but listening to music and videos is when the issue occurs. It only happens intermittently through wired headphones and through a cable in the car (USB-C to aux). Sound will either cut out altogether, which is the more common occurrence, or will start crackling. I've tried multiple headphones and multiple cables in the car. Any suggestions?

What should I do if this happens on an S22? When using a USB-C to aux to listen to music in the car, it defaults to the headphones mode. This limits the volume range massively, and I can't even switch via media output. Please help.
