I am editing this post, as @BandOfBrothers got there first. In true "Mastermind" fashion, however..."I started, so I'll finish!" 😁

To take part in this promotion, you would be required to purchase the phone SIM free from one of the participating retailers. This is not about the phone being network unlocked. Rather, the phone would need to be bought outright - so a finance payment option could be taken, but a pay monthly mobile contract taken directly with a network would not qualify.

I got my phone from EE via customer care on the phone. My phone is not linked to my contract I e it was done by 2 separate payments, 1 for the phone and the other for a SIM so I can change one with no connection to the other. I don't think EE are a qualifying retailer in this offer but I would have missed it anyway as you have to claim within 30 days of purchase. I hope this helps. Also regulations were introduced in the UK in 2021 I think that banned network providers from locking phones so technically every phone sold after 2021 is SIM free i.e not locked so it is more likely linked to participating retailers who have an agreement with Samsung. I got free buds with mine so offers vary between different retailers. Hope this helps

That's correct @PaulC59 

The promotion isn't relayed in anyway to the status of the phone i.e locked.

It is related to participating retailers as mentioned in my reply above.
