Help! My download folder within Gallery has vanished, how do I get it back?

Hello and welcome, suing MY FILES, it should be in the left panel under recent files.
If no goto Internal Storage and search from there.

If you moved pictures from that folder elswhere, then it won't show in Gallery.
Or is you have the essential folders option on.

Yeah, I can see it in My Files (and everything is in the folder as it should be) but it always used to show as an album within the photo gallery too. i tried turning the essentials folder on and off but it's not even listed there as a folder to select to hide/unhide. It's very odd! 🤔

@ourkezx: If you head to the Gallery app > Select the Albums tab > Tap 'View all' in the top right of the screen, can you see the Download album here?

If not, tap the 3 lines in the bottom right > Recycle bin, and check to see if the album has made it's way here. If it has, press and hold on the album > Restore all.

Hi Andrew, I don't have the 'view all' option 🤔 only 'select', 'sort' and 'hide albums'. When I search for something I know is in the folder, it comes up with the results and I can view it. I just can't see the album in the gallery app. So weird!

I've now noticed that when I open the files, they aren't opening in the gallery app, so it's using my MS 365 app to open them. Have I somehow changed their format? If I've accidentally deleted them they should show in the recycle bin and they're not 🤯

@ourkezx: The 'View all' option in the Albums tab should be in blue text, and visible just below the 3 vertical dots in the top right. At the moment it sounds like you are tapping on the 3 dots themselves, which won't be necessary to access this setting.

Please note that the Gallery will only be able to open certain image file types e.g. jpegs, so files that are not in a supported format such as PDFs will be opened in other compatible applications.

Hi all, thank you so much for all of your suggestions. I have now realised that I had accidentally moved the whole folder and it's contents so it was hiding amongst another folder! Panic over! Thank you all again 🙏
