@walkerx: I'm sorry to hear that you're having some issues with the Fingerprint sensor on your Galaxy S23 Ultra. Do you have a screen protector on the device? If so, please head to Settings > Display > Touch sensitivity, and toggle this option on to see if this helps. To test the hardware, please head to the Samsung Members app > Press and hold on the app icon > Diagnostics > Fingerprint recognition, and follow the on-screen prompts.

@walkerx: The Fingerprint sensor will naturally require a complete scan in order to cross check it against your registered fingerprints. While I understand that it might not be ideal, blemishes, scars etc will provide an incomplete image, so this actually speaks to the accuracy of the sensor itself. You do still have the option of entering your backup password/PIN in the event that you're unable to unlock your device using Biometrics.

In my case it's more to do with dry skin.
I sometimes find breathing on my finger helps but I do find the scanner on my s²³ Ultra works most of the time.
I have a Samsung Tpu Screen protector fitted too.
To be honest the best fingerprint sensor I've used is the one on the Fold³ which worked flawlessly. @walkerx

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
