Apparently, there is an Emergency Mode now available in the power options (long press power button). However, despite having the latest version of Emergency Launcher installed, I don't see this option. Any ideas please?

Something like....

Pull down from the top and type in SOS

There are options there under Emergency SOS @jvk

Or in Settings > Safety and Emergency.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

What is Emergency Mode and how do I use it?

Emergency mode enables you to extend your device’s standby time when you are in an emergency situation and you want your device to conserve power for as long as possible.

When this mode is activated, the screen’s brightness will decrease and some of the device's functionality will be limited in order to conserve your battery's charge. The home screen will be changed to a black theme to reduce battery consumption.

You will be able to use the Phone app to make a call to a specified contact and also to make emergency calls. You can also turn on the flash, sound alarms and send your location information to others in a message.

Turn on Emergency ModeClick to collapse

Please note:  the images below may not match your device exactly. They may differ depending theme, operating system and model.

1Press and hold the Power button until you see the power menu options

2Tap Emergency Mode

3If you are using Emergency Mode for the first time, you will need to accept the Terms and Conditions

4Tap Enable OR Turn On

5You will now see the Emergency Mode home screen, including an estimate of your battery standby time.

Emergency mode was available in earlier versions of Android. It has now been replaced by Emergency SOS (not the same functionality though).

The closest you can get to the Emergency mode (in terms of saving battery) is to enable "Limit apps and Home screen" under Power Saving in Battery settings.

So why is it big news now and Samsung themselves are publishing the above procedures on how to activate it? This was posted on Samsung Fans Telegram chat, TODAY. https://www.sammyfans.com/2023/06/21/samsung-one-ui-emergency-launcher-new-update-available/
