Since latest update email app stays open in back ground and drains battery.
No way to force close this.
Anyone know if Samsung is going to fix this or anyone have a fix ?

My phone would usually last till the next morning with at least 30% now nearly make it through the 24 hours

I think it's more about the UI than anything. One UI 6.1 seems to be a nightmare for battery life including, I dare to say, the S24 series phones

You can stop Samsung Mail from running in the background and swipe away any sync notifications. The app will only start exhibiting this behaviour again when and if you restart the phone, at which point you would repeat what I've already advised.

There is no fix from Samsung as yet. Personally, I've disabled sync for now, until a fix has been issued.

Samsung has waisted 3 days of my time because of this issue.

I have reported the battery drain - which they have failed to adequately respond to on several occasions.

I even spent an entire day going to a Samsung store, where they took my phone and said that they tested my phone and said there was no problem. They refused to accept what I was telling them about how my phone was chewing through the battery charge. They treated me like a moron.

Today I spent the entire day researching the issue. After some checking I thought it may be the email app, which I could not optimise - as the email app would always revert back to always on when I accessed the email app.

So far, after optimising or disabling the email app, the phone is OK - providing the email app is disabled, or battery optiminised and not opened again.

Samsung could have saved me 3 days of my precious time by just acknowledging that there is an issue with the email app and suggested that I disable it in the interim.

Service from Samsung is disgusting.
