Help! The sound on my S23+ has recently become distorted. At first I thought maybe there was dirt or something in the speaker or speaker had been damaged. But I am finding that at times everything is fine and clear. I have also checked whether it's related to specific apps but that's not the case either.
Any ideas on how to fix?

@Leeds007: I'm sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue on your Galaxy S23+. Please try restarting the phone by pressing and holding the Side button > Restart, to address any possible software issues that might be a contributing factor. If the issue persists, head to the Samsung Members app > Press and hold on the app icon > Diagnostics > Phone diagnostics > Speaker, and follow the on-screen instructions. Are you able to hear the sample clearly during the playback, or does it return an 'Action required' notification in the summary at the end of the test?

I have tried restarting the phone several times, whether it's a hard reboot or soft reboot, it doesn't solve it. Phone diagnosis just asks if you can hear sound from speaker, not the quality of sound, so it passes that.
I thought about a factory reset, but don't want to loose everything on phone.
The only way to avoid distortion atm is have volume set a lvl 1 or 2, which isn't practical.

@Leeds007 try the diagnostic tool found in your Samsung Members App to see if that highlights anything.

Ultimately a Samsung Service Centre may need to look at the phone.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask.  😎

@AKlion in the Samsung Unpacked Event it was mentioned that A.I would come to some eligible phone's in the first part of 2024.

More information should be released soon on this. Watch on sites such as sammobile.com too.

I have run full diagnostics with no problems showing. I believe it is a software problem not a hardware problem as with some apps the sound is OK while with others it's poor and distorted. It's also not limited to specific apps (eg YouTube) as one time the sound would be fine, the next time it could be distorted.

From the Samsung Unpacked Event it was mentioned that we should see AI cone across to eligible phone's in the first part of this year.

However there js no official confirmation when or what AI Enhancements will be allowed @AKlion

This works for me, go to settings, reset, reset all settings, you may have to do this a few times but eventually works...
