UPDATE:
Doorstep repair booked. Had to use live chat because the repair portal would not accept my IMEI. Agent I spoke with could see the fault in the pics I supplied and agreed it wasn't normal. He couldn't explain why my IMEI number was being rejected when I tried to book a repair myself. I must say, it's VERY convenient for Samsung if you can't book a repair though. The sceptic in me thinks this is done on purpose, in the hope that people just give up.

ISSUE:
Recently, I've noticed a brighter area around my front camera hole.

A Google search shows that this was a fairly common issue with older Samsung devices and I wondered if anyone else has it on their S23?

It's easier to see on darker grey & blue but it's always visible to me (unless black is displayed, because the pixels turn off to display true black).

I've only just noticed it after updating to 6.1.1 last week, and it seems to be a fault related to the screen glue, making the glass delaminate from the screen. I'm wondering if the recent update was the cause because I noticed it got very warm during this process, specifically in the top portion of the screen area.

It's only 13 months old and I'm on a 24 month contract so I'm thinking I should contact Samsung about this?

Just putting the feelers out to see if anyone else has or had this issue on any Samsung devices?

Edit: I put a post up on Reddit and everyone who responded has this fault now. It's a repeat of the infamous GLUE GATE issue that affected the Note 20.

The 6.1.1 update specially for s23 models was catastrophe people loose their singal all the time, Bluetooth bugs etc I even heard some people lost connection after update because update ruined antennas in the phone so I do believe that's why samsung paused the update to fix the issues. But it could be pixel burnouts you should get in touch with samsung tech team and report the issue

The 6.1.1 update mainly affected the zoom on S23U from what I heard.

Yeah but they can fix by turning AI feature in settings of optimisation to medium and it solves it up until samsung fixes all of bugs. But what I've heard from people, friends, I know few who works at phone shops it effected mostly s23 series with no connection and multiple other issues. I think that's why samsung stopped the updates for other models like s24 ultra for the ones who still haven't got one to solve all bugs and then they release stable version as I understand

Try *#0*# in phones dialer and run tests on if there's any dead pixels or something wrong with screen as well

The screen is perfect, besides the lighter patch around the hole punch. It isn't image burn or dead pixels, but thx for the suggestion.

My new problem is trying to book a repair. It says my imei number isn't recognised.

Yeah then I suggest to get in touch with samsung tech team and they could run diagnostic on your phone and see what's going on. Hope it's going to be sorted for you.

They can't run diagnostics. It's a hardware defect. They'll need to physically look at it to see the fault.

Except.....I can't book a repair, because it says my IMEI isn't recognised.

Why does everything have to always be so hard to sort out? I swear it's by design.

If the phone is on contract you could contact your network provider. May be they will deal with the warranty.

That's what should happen, but I suspect they'll fob me off onto Samsung. They have a bit of a bad reputation so I'll probably be better off going to Samsung myself anyway
