I hope the community and Samsung moderators can give some pointers about APKMirror please.
Over the last few weeks, I have read on the forum boards about using APKMirror to download new versions of Samung and Google apps/modules. This is new to me and some of it sounds interesting but I do have reservations...
- is this the same as 'side-loading'?
- does it invalidate the device's warranty or affect the security agreements we sign up to for using online banking / contactless payments?
- is APKMirror an officially certified source if a module is from Samung?
- is it a security risk i.e. how do we know the file is what it claims to be and hasn't been tampered with?
- what is the wider risk to phone stability if one module is updated but others aren't perhaps, with dependencies that are not apparent?
- is there another way to get these modules installed, such as through Google/Galaxy store, or waiting until the monthly patch?
