WiFi drops and phone restarts continuously

Hi

My s22 ultra keeps restarting whenever the WiFi is on. I have spoken to my network provider who have advised that this a software issue and to let Samsung know too.

Every time the phone restarts, I go to the Samsung members app and the first message that pops up tells me that my phone incorrectly restarted and that a log will be sent to Samsung.

I hope a fix is made available as I'm only using my data at the moment for the internet and cannot use WiFi.

This started happening 2 days ago, got to a point where it just boot looped for a hour.

Learnt myself that wifi off stops it.

And seeing as everyone else has noticed this it's clearly a wider issue.

My warranty expired two months ago.

How very convenient.

Yes very annoying.

I had to replace with a s23 ultra in the end.

Nearly put me off Samsung altogether.

Some people have had success going into a Samsung store for a repair but I wasn't close enough to any stores to make this feasible

Currently experiencing the same issue!

Warranty expired in Feb 2024 - typical. Been frantically trying to diagnose the issue, and luckily found this thread and bingo!!! it's the WiFi. I've tried everything apart from the factory reset, which judging by everything I have read on here and other forums, it won't solve the problem so I decided not to waste my time and effort doing that.

Anyway, I just wanted to post that I've currently found a fix (albeit faffy)... I'm happy using my data when out and about so turning my WiFi off has stopped the countless restart loops whilst on the go. However, I live in the middle of the countryside so rely on my WiFi to use my phone because I don't get a signal. So I had a brainwave... I've made my tablet a wifi hotspot and I'm currently tethered to that via bluetooth - no issues and no crashing. Annoying i have to keep my tablet within close distance but it's better than nothing. I also tried my husband's phone as a WiFi hotspot and I connected to that via WiFi and also had no issues. I've only discovered this today so I'm sure it'll be short lived but it's a means to an end.

Wanted to share and hopefully it might help some of you out. I know how frustrating this is and this has eased some of the stress - even if it is temporary!

Let me give you an update. I contacted remote assistance from Samsung, but they were not able to see anything from diagnostics tool. I then did some tests myself and figured out that when a sim card is pulled out, the phone works fine on WiFi (tested like this for 24h). The moment I inserted sim card back, the same second phone crashed and ended into a long boot loop. I tested this on two different sim cards, different carriers.

You guys could try it and let us know if you experience the same.

This is happening to me and it now has used 10GB of my data in just over a week. Usually i use around 8GB in a month. It constantly reboots and it is definitely the wifi that is causing it. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated as i'm now losing work because of this issue!

i tried a factory reset and it doesn't work, i believe its a glitch with the new software update as my phone was working fine until i did the update

Returns the phone under warranty. I'm angry that something like this happened. For those without a guarantee - try CFW. Or try to flash an earlier version of the system.
