@Krish12: After closing WhatsApp, tap the Recents button in your Navigation Bar (3 vertical lines) and swipe upwards on the preview window for the app to close it completely. Let me know if this helps.

@Krish12: That's strange. For clarity, if you swipe from the top of the screen to the bottom after closing WhatsApp via the Recents button, is the green dot still present in the top right corner? Also, when you tap on the dot, does it state that the microphone is being used by WhatsApp?
If so, you may wish to head to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits > Sleeping apps > Tap the '+' symbol in the top right > Whatsapp > Add. Alternatively, head to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Permissions > Microphone > Select 'Allow only while using the app', or 'Ask every time'.
