I don't always have my bluetooth in my ear.  Text notifications come out only through bluetooth.  I have been all through the settings but cannot find out how to make the text notification sounds come out through the phone speakers while my bluetooth is connected.

I just got a new phone and "Sound Assistant" does not appear in any store because it is not yet approved for the phone model. However, this does not stop you side loading from an APK, which works great for me.

Just do a search for Good Lock Labs Sound Assistant APK, download from a source like apkmirror and install (you'll probably have to add permission). Viola!

Thanks!  I knew I'd figured it out before, but when I switched phones I forgot about Sound Assistant!

You need to download it on the galaxy store not Google play

No, this is definitely not the issue in this thread. If you take a moment to read through both this thread and the one you’re referencing, you’ll notice that the problems are quite different.

The solution mentioned in the TechRepublic forum involves a faulty right speaker, which is why the user can’t hear the notification sound on their phone. Bluetooth isn’t mentioned at all in that context.

This thread, on the other hand, is about a Bluetooth headset connection. As stated multiple times above, the solution involves opening the 'Galaxy Store' app and searching for 'Sound Assistant' by 'Good Lock Labs'. After installing the app, open it, go to 'Advanced Settings,' and deactivate "Alert Through Headphones."

I created an account just to say THANK YOU. I have been dealing with this issue for YEARS. I decided again today to do a Google search of this issue and found your post. And just like that I can now hear notifications through my phone while still hearing music and media through Bluetooth.

Thank you again.

It's in the Samsung Galaxy store.

I literally just fixed it. The problem was with an app I have called "sound assistant." I don't know if it is standard on the devices, but I have it. Here's what to do:

App:Sound assistant>advanced settings>uncheck "alerts through headphones" setting.

If you don't have it, download it specifically from the Galaxy store and maybe that will override whatever crossed wires in your phone are causing the malfunction. It appears that this app replaced Good Lock, for those who get the incompatibility error from the aforementioned Good Lock app.
