It's a conundrum why your experiencing these issues with the Whitestone Dome @Madfish 😵💫
I have one fitted on my Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra and it works flawlessly.
One extra step I personally take which I've mentioned on other threads is that after the 1st Uv Light curing and pushing the phone out of tbe jig to use the alcohol wipe to clear any excess loca silicone I also lightly press down on the phone's screen where the fingerprint scanner is located, and then 2nd Uv light cure.
Also if necessary delete any previous fingerprints and then scan new one's.
This isn't in the fitting instructions however.
This is from a tip I picked up a while ago from other users of using Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protectors.

Hey @Madfish
Place your thumb on the screen protector where the fingerprint scanner shows on the phones screen, and gently but firmly press down a few time's remembering not too hard as the protector is not truly secure at this stage as it needs that 2nd curing.
