Samsung S22 bootloop and random restarts

Since the latest software update my phone is constantly rebooting, sometimes going in bootloops up to 5-10 minutes before starting again.
When this happens the phone tends to get hot.

Only thing that seems to stop this from happening (at least for now) is diabling WiFi.

I'm on OneUi 6.1, with Google play 1 October 2024

My s22u worked perfectly fine. In september I updated it (when the galaxy AI was introduced) and a few days later it started to freeze, random restarts and bootloops. Disabling wifi seemed to make the restarts and bootloops lesser but it still does every day about at least 4-5 times and wifi is disabled 24/7. The ironic part is that my warranty ended a month before all this started. Noone seems to know whats going. All I know is that replacing the motherboard is the solution, but that is a costly repair. Im saving up for a new phone and it is not going to be a Samsung.

I have the exact same issue. It worked perfectly up until this month. After the last update it crashes all the time. If I turn off wifi, it is a bit better. Also using GPS seems to be causing it to crash. I tried erasing the cache, uninstalling latest apps, clearing storage - nothing works.

I never had such a drastic issue with a smartphone from other brands before. My warranty also ended a short time beforehand. This feels like a scam. If Samsung does not fix this soon, I will be switching to another brand for sure.

Bought an iPhone 12 pro from my daughter.

Getting an Google pixel 8 pro next month. Just saw the s25 ultra. 6.9 inch. That's tablet size and horrible expensive. That's not my cup of tea anymore.

Samsung have promised to replace motherboard as my phone just went out of warranty when this happened, they have promised a one time repair for me (without acknowledging fault!l) but can't get through the 3-5day email support people... now two weeks past their promises and nearly into 3rd month without the phone that still has 1year contract left!!!!!

What happens if storage is full or 90% full?

It has happened to my S22 too. I don't remember even telling my phone to update, but it turned itself off and did so, and now it keeps getting stuck in reboot loops. Tried turning my WiFi back on without realising it makes it worse - phone has been stuck in a reboot loop for 7 hours now 😞

Interestingly, this happened to my S22 literally a couple of days after my presumed (by Samsung) warranty expired. In reality my warranty does not expire until April (I bought new on Amazon, and I presume the supplier must have bought, but not activated, the phone from Samsung two months earlier). They are sending someone to fix. We shall see - cannot turn it on, no chance to check everything is backed up, though fortunately my photos are in cloud 😞

I also have this issue from almost 2 months.. this is not serious.

I issue is not fixed with One UI 7.0 later this month, not sure why do we bought Samsung for regardless how many major 7 security upgrades..
