So, as it seems a common issue here in the UK with long waits for upgrade return packs, I haven't had any luck from contacting Samsung, but my previous agreement is due to be settled 5th May 2022 (in two weeks time).
At what point do I just accept I'm not returning my old device? As I'd have already paid in full when the upgrade pack arrives at this rate!

What have Samsung advised when you contacted them in regards to the Returns Pack @Members_zDANlBW ?
There are indeed some posts similar to yours in regards to Returns Pack delays which may hold some helpful advice in.

As all you get is an A4 sheet of paper with the returns sticker and brief details
You don't get any returns packaging anymore and you have to supply the packaging yourself to send it back
A lot have discarded the returns label thinking it was just part of the shipping details
