S22 Ultra reboot loop

Hey all,

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Read it all. Creating here a new topic to increase the impact (however, I believe Ssung won't care either).

After the December's update I started to notice wi fi weird behavior. It just kept disconnected randomly. Well. Didn't pay much attention until today's morning when the phone started rebooting randomly.

The tricky part is.. it works fine when wi-fi is turned off completely. As soon as you turn wi-fi on, in a few minutes it freezes and then reboots. Another tricky part is.. you can turn wi-fi ON and put on airplane mode. And it will keep working.

Motherboard issue? Yeah, no way. Wi-fi module issue? Prolly not. In that case wi-fi wouldn't work at all.

Software update caused issues? I'd bet on that.

Tried to connect phone to PC and record some logs through logcat, but it's difficult to figure out where the problem is even having logs. Need to be Ssung engineer I guess.

The fact that the company does absolutely nothing is absolutely disgraceful. 1300 EUR phone is getting useless and they drag more money through useless service points that don't even want to investigate the issue (if your nose bleeds let's just switch the whole head) is even more disgraceful.

After reading all of the topics here and realizing how many people got impacted without any single notion of care from Ssung, I will avoid all of Samsung products from now on for the rest of my life.

Of course not. Check the IP if you don't believe me.

Why do you even ask? There are dozens of threads discussing this issue already.

Not to make assumptions. No offense meant. Rather, it sounded like a very similar experience—in terms of your mentioning the motherboard.

It's also potentially helpful for me to provide you with the link to gather information.

Maybe I can suggest some ideas on how to help. Since you're saying it was after an update, have you tried clearing the phone's cache?

Connect to a PC.
1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Side keys simultaneously.
3. Release the keys when the Android logo appears.
4. Use the Volume keys to navigate to Wipe cache partition.
5. Press the Side key to select Wipe cache partition.
6. Confirm your selection with the Power button.
7. Select Yes and confirm again.
8. Select Reboot system now and confirm.
9. Wait for the device to restart.

I've been on all these topics and suggestions for the whole day since the morning. Nothing helped.

The one thing can help us all. Samsung steps up, confirms the issue, apologizes and releases a firmware fix. In case for some users firmware fix won't help, free service even for these who out of warranty.

In 2024/2025 a company THAT big can't just release a firmware update (that prevents downgrade) without proper testing it, which bricks 1000+ eur phones, and gets away with it. No way.

The problem is, for every one phone you claim the update messed up, there's about 10,000 more that haven't had a single issue. Also there's the burden of proof. Not to dismiss your situation, but it's a very difficult and time consuming process to verify and diagnose the truth to all the claims. Updates on phones will not specifically target a small subset of users, it just doesn't work like that. So whilst you claim the update has caused these issues, it must first be proven the case. Otherwise Samsung would be doing a huge disservice admitting to something that wasn't true.

I can confirm this is a software issue. Exactly the same...always on a rebbot loop after wifi or bluetooth turned on.Happened to me the other week on my S24U. Luckily still under warranty so sent it into Samsung and they wiped it and must of put a proper update on it.

Hello 👋 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

Yes unfortunately you're not alone with issues the same or similar to yours, which appears to be a software issue ,and or indeed for some who have made posts a motherboard issue.

This is a customer to customer support forum so as such Samsung Customer Services wouldn't see your post.

I suggest to people to also submit feedback via their Samsung Members App.

The more people that do the better to help highlight this very real ongoing issue to Samsung directly.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Having the same issue on my s22 ultra.  Looking for a resolution as the phone was working perfectly fine and then started rebooting and will not stop until battery dies.  I have tried everything to fix the issue, wiped cache, factory reset and to no avail.  Please offer a solution at some point Samsung.

The fact is that since the last update, people have been creating topics about problems in droves. Moreover, this has created a lot of problems for everyone, since there is too much of our information in phones in the modern world. And now it's all left there, with many. It's horrible. And we don't need to talk about percentage statistics here. There is a massive FAILURE and breakdown of devices simultaneously after one event - a software update.

No proof is needed here. Everything is clear to everyone
