S22 Ultra - Reboot Loop

Hey everyone,

Not sure if anyone else is having the same problem? 

Was using my phone, as normal, nothing new was immediately installed prior and it just went blank and then went into reboot loop.

It did come back on and say "optimising apps" which makes me think it's a Samsung update issue.

I've tried wiping the cache through the back door menu but nothing is working. I'm really reluctant to factory reset if there's a simple fix. It also won't let me into safe mode but not sure if I'm just doing it wrong or the phones not giving me enough time to do it between restarts.

Any advice?

I've been in contact with the executive team in Samsung and they say that they have had no other reported issues. Odd.

i went to the Service center with my phone to report the issue and they said the same thing. This is unacceptable

That's interesting. I wonder if it's made it's way to Samsung head office yet.

Same issue here with my S22 Ultra, started 2 weeks ago and made it completely unusable. I am stuck in reboot loops for hours...

If it's still under warranty it should be able to be fixed, granted you'll lose everything but the they should fix it

Samsung replied to me confirming the issue and it needs new motherboard but they refuse to repair it under the warranty because there are some scratches on the device!! 

what a bad service for flagship device died in less than two years !!

Now my phone restored without any data, so please if anyone find a solution let me know to try it.

I don't think there is a solution unfortunately. They have repaired mine under warranty and it was the motherboard but they haven't confirmed what caused the issue yet.

I was thinking this option. I did mine over PayPal but there is a consumer rights aspect to this.

I got exactly the same issue, I was using the camera when the screen froze and then the phone re-started. I saw the message 'optimising apps' which only happens when the phone updates, so I know update was at play. Then it restarted again and went into a boot loop and kept on restarting.

I spent an hour with Samsung discussing options, but they are too stubborn to acknowledge how wide the issue is and how many people it has impacted. They said it needs to be inspected first.

Took it to the official repair shop, who were awful. Basically they said, it needs a new motherboard (quoted £400!). I asked if they have 'diagnosed' the issue, turns out, the technician logic was, since the phone can't be turned on, it must be the motherboard 

I said even if I was ready to pay that ridiculous money (which I wouldn't), how would you know if it is motherboard, have you diagnosed it? They said no, they can't run diagnostics because the phone can't be turned on. Well, that IS the problem that it is not booting ... 

I left with no resolution, Samsung apparently have released this new update OneUI 6.1.1 (I think) that has impacted many S22 line phones, let's see if they own it. Time to switch to another brand, if this is how Samsung are going to treat us
