S22 Ultra - Messages app Notification sound

Hey, 

Can anyone enlighten me as to how you change the notifications sound on the text/messages app (default). I've gone into settings & Notifications but absolutely cannot see a way to change the tone.

Hey,

The option to change the call or notification sound is under 'Sounds and Vibration'....

But im not quite sure on how to change the sound from the messaging app? 🤔, were you able to do it before?

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately the Notification sound will change the sound for all Notifications, as opposed to just the texts/SMS.

I was able to do it before on my S21Ultra.

I would think that Google messages with Samsung ui4 is set to default. Settings,Apps, Google messages, 1st in list, notifications,  notification  categories,  incoming  messages,  you can change tone in there.

I'm not using Google messages, just the default SMS app.

If your using the samsung message app just go into settings, in the app, notifications , new messages, and you can change tone in there.

Thanks, saw the New Messages toggle but didn't realise it expanded into a menu also.
