@brianwilks: Please try heading to Settings > Notifications > Lock screen notifications > Hide content > Show content when unlocked > On > Notifications to show > Alert and silent notifications.
If the issue persists, try heading to Settings > Apps > Select an app that you receive notifications from regularly e.g. Messages > Notifications, and make sure that 'Allow sound and vibration' is selected.

My s22 is still having notification sound issues, because literally up until the most recent security patch, all my notification sounds were working, and then during that very same evening I had no sound notifications at all. Now, to give somr context on the situation (because everyone suddenly rushes in to comment as if they're a tech guru and say the same things previously said despite being told they don't work)... via phone settings all notifications are turned on for sound, DND is not on, Volume is turned right up, Modes/Routines is not on. Ringtone works fine. When checking notification sounds via the <app-settings-notification sound> route then I can select a sound and it plays its required sound, so I know they work... however if I go the other route via <settings-apps-notifications-notification sounds> then the selected sound only provides a vibrate option, but won't play the sound at all. Also, since that security patch update, some apps have actually given vibration feedback from keyboard taps and actions within the apps, which never did before and all keyboard responses are always switched off and still show as switched off despite the fact occasionally happens. Therefore, the patch update messed with the settings itself, both audio and haptic it seems... and when i get a message via text, email, whatsapp, discord, etc the phone just shows a silent notification. Strange how the phone come out of warranty now and now its gone wrong.... suspicious coincidence it seems..

There is a setting on my Samsung Watch that magically switched to "Mute notification on phone". As soon as I turned that off, I started getting the notification on my phone when it was locked...
I went to the Samsung folder on my phone
Selected the Wearable App "Wear"
Watch settings > Notifications > Mute notifications on phone (slide off)
