Hello, I was scrolling my phone last night when the screen flickered and I encountered a ~10mm section of the left side of the screen that has

a top to bottom vertical white section that flickers and distorts the colours at the edge of where the screen goes normal again. I hadn't dropped the phone, merely had it on charge and was using it at the time.

Images attached, anyone seen this before? 20 months old, so I assume I would have to swallow the repair cost for a new screen? UK based if that matters.

20 months old device and this just happened now. Your device is not defective. Your device display has been damaged, your gonna have get a replacement definitely internal damage I don't see any cracks outside. If you don't recall dropping the phone. I'm wondering if your battery has started expanding and then putting pressure on the display from the inside.

Thanks for the reply, the battery theory could be correct as it appeared a few minutes after plugging it into charge for the night. If I wasn't using the phone at the moment it developed the issue I would have questioned if I had dropped it etc!

24 months warranty in the uk with samsung, I would contact them. You will only be charged if they do find damage. Good luck.

There has been reports about this issue on the S22ultra devices on the Sammobile.com site and to fix it will need a new screen. It should still be under warranty so you should contact Samsung customer care
