S22 Ultra: better download speeds but still way behind S10+ for uploading!

Photos of speed tests run at the same time, on the same network using 4G (same tarriff), connected to the same cell. The S10+ has the navigation buttons showing. The S22 Ultra is Exynos powered.

S22 Ultra upload speeds a consistently significantly poor than the S10+.

The test show that the download rates with the S22 Ultra are a step up from the S21 Ultra, which consistently fell behind the S10+ for both download and upload speed.

The S10+ appears to register a stronger signal from the cell. There is much better parity in latency between the S10+ and S22 Ultra than with the S21 Ultra; the S21 Ultra tended to show much larger latency than the S10+.

Do not expect a software update to address this deficit. Samsung did not improve the signal reception or throughput on the S21 Ultra in over 12 months and took no interest in recognising that recent Samsung modems are extremely poor compared to other smartphones.

User experience seems to be a slightly better download experience in poorer signal areas (to some extent), however with 5G, you will really notice the huge difference between reasonably ok download speeds and extremely poor upload speeds unless you are sat on a 5G cell, where you are probably ok with this phone.

Another dissappointment.

Don't know what this fascination for stats and speed tests with non scientific Apps is about.
I know that EE have two different speed networks.
Is the App your using, have the software update to be able to read the new chipset.
It's obviously not a calibrated software.
Honestly, if the phone works well in everyday use. I really don't take the readings seriously, but just as an interesting experiment.
If you want, leave it a couple of weeks to let the software sort itself out and maybe try it again.
These apps are rarely accurate and don't take into account of any management software inbuilt with chipsets.
Those tests are just a crude indication and an accurate test can only be done by scientific equipment

The user experience is what matters and Samsung continually do not give a fig about it unless it's marketable hype they can cash in on.

I am sorry but your reply just reads as nasal gazing nonsense.

Both phones have the latest available firmware and of course they are not like for like - there's 3 years between them! That’s the whole point!

The S10+ is still superior to later phones with it’s 4G modem - at least in terms of uploads. It’s really that simple. Put the two phones together and you can obviously feel this kind of difference.

The App I was using a browser. You know to make this more of a realist user experience. I don’t know many people that will buy scientific equipment to say what they can see and feel with their eyes when it comes to such commodities.

You might want to read https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s21-series/4g-performance-on-exynos-s21-ultra-is-waaayyy-... and then review whether you think these are just isolated findings. It’s clear they are not – the latest Samsung modems are inferior in that they do not provide a consistent improved user experience. That is not too much to ask for - but expecting Samsung to show true innovation and quality - clearly is.

All I know is that the Z Fold 3 got trashed everywhere.
I got the phone and it's nothing like what anyone was saying. It's so much better, and recent software updates have improved it even further.
The S22 Ultra chipset is still new, and at least give it a couple of weeks first off.
I'm getting my S22 Ultra shortly and will of course find out for myself.
So a Web browser is accurate then, and I'm supposed to be talking nasal gazing nonsense. Whatever that's supposed to mean.
EE do offer different speeds. That's just fact. You don't show that they are both on the same speed networks.
So many inconsistencies.
It's possible that the other phone is set so it uses more performance than the new phone, especially if the new phone is on some battery saving mode.
Just not enough information determine it those tests are done properly 🤷🏻

Yeah, I'm sure you'd like our account numbers and access to our personal data just to prove our case. Whatever...

You haven't bothered to read the other post. You ain't worth my time sorry.

I actually did see it but really doesn't tell me anything more than this post.
Why on earth would I need your account number 😂 😂
Just pointing out how pointless and flawed these tests are 🤷🏻
