Yes, a hard reset is the only action that works to reconnect the watch.

I perform the reset via the settings menu on the watch itself.
BTW If I try and reestablish a pairing via Bluetooth on the phone I regularly get a error message on the phone in wearables and the watch prompts we to perform a reset. Sometimes though wearables takes me through the add device process until I get to the final steps page which shows a percentage complete value. That runs to 84% and then hangs before eventually just returning to the default wearables add device screen and my watch hasn't been added.

I did share a link, Samsung removed it. But YouTube has a video on how to perform a hard reset by going into recovery mode.
I took a look at the link, and it but I'm not comfortable at doing that. All the steps that I have performed so far are listed in the article 'galaxy watch keeps disconnecting? Here's what to do" on the site called Mobileinternist

What is my next step. At this point I think there is something wrong with my phone but what can I do? If my watch was faulty then why world my phone lose pairings?

When I run Add New Device in Galaxy Wearables on my work phone it quickly detects my watch but of I do the same on my own mobile which the watch was paired with my watch didn't appear. What does that mean?
