S22+ Brightness in the sun

Has anyone else noticed the display vastly changing when under the brightness of the sun? Mine seems to switch to an incredibly bright setting that actually washes out my background and app icons quite a bit, and it only happens when I'm under a very bright light like the sun

It's worth noting I have adaptive brightness AND extra brightness turned off completely but it still happens

It happens to me as well on my S22 Ultra only

on a very bright sunlight

I have been using iPhone 13 Pro Max for a couple of months and to be honest, its display is totally unreadable in bright sunshine. No matter how the settings are, its display is not bright enough in bright sunshine. I will definitely revert back to using Samsung S-line phones. The Samsung quality, features and display are top notch! Apple has much to learn from its competitors.
