When im listening to music or watching videos over AKG USB-C original Samsung earphones, sound ocasionaly after a while audio started getting distorted - Its totaly random. It happens randomly, but when it starts, its goes on and on every few seconds. Pause the video/music and resume, makes it go away, but starts again in few seconds. when this happened, i disconnected the earphones to see if it will continue over speakers, but it didnt. Over speakers plays no problem. Then i tried another original AKG samsung earphones, and it was again distorted every few seconds. Earphones are not the problem-they are all original, tried 3 of em and they are not the cause.
Fact 1: audio gets distorted, and when it does, it dosent stop untill reboot.
Fact 2: audio gets distorted ONLY when i have connected USB TYPE C earphones (all original from Samsung)
Fact 3: audio plays normal on speakers on every volume
Fact 4: i booted in safe mode, also was playing normal with no distortion.
Fact 5: i tried with or without DOLBY ATMOS-didnt fixed distortion, was still distorted
After i reboot in safe mode, it played normal again, now after few hours , didnt came back. i rebooted back into normal mode, and issue atm didnt returned. but it will, since last time it did.
Im trying to figure out what causes it. (hardware or software).??
I have April update firmware and I already did factory reset after updating. Didnt helped. Since its random, and it happens only when using earphones, maybe usb-C need too get firmware fix? I read old s21 forums, some people got firmware updates for usb-c connector.
Maybe April,s Firmware S906BXXU1AVCJ did something to audio driver in S22+??? and need to be fixed in next updates?
Any help would be apreciated. What else can i try when audio distorsion comes back?
Samsung, FIX this!!!! (or im thinking returning the device)

Have u tested with earbuds without mic. Suppose to be one of possible causes?

I have a similar problem: I have a S22 Ultra, and i use (non samsung) earphones, with an official jack-usb c adaptor from Samsung. Sometimes, I get this distorted effect, it reminds me of the slenderman videogame; when it gets near you, and the audio gets all distorted. In my case, it happened for the first time 2 days ago, and the distortion went on for 5 to 10 seconds, and slowly going away. It came back every 2 to 3 minutes, and when I rebooted the phone, it never came back. The distortion appeared again today, with the same problem. I've tried screen recording, but you can't hear the distortion in the recording. Any fixes?

my earpiece is shure SE535 which uses no mic cable I am very sure is phone problem. Every time it's occur it's always at that particular location that the place when I am travel or in office. Anyway, I have switch to sony and make a tested with DAC... no issue at all... This is a problem that is unique to samsung S and note series...
Anyway, those still have a problem use type c extension cable or switch to longer cable, it would less likelyhood to have crackling sound problem.

I think I have the exact same problem with my Galaxy S22 too. Mine starts to sound like an audio sound effect technique called Sample rate reduction / bit crusher. It's hard to describe it in detail but it sounds like you have the same problem as me. I don't know if anyone tried it but go into app info for "Samsung USB-C headset" and click on battery, set it to unrestricted. I just had this idea pop up in my head and I'm gonna try to see if it solves the problem the next time i get distortion via USB-C audio playing. Let me know if anyone tried it and possibly fixed their problem, I'll report back after testing myself.

Well I tried switching the battery option for app "Samsung USB-C headset" to understricted but sadly it didn't help, the distortion was still there so now I'm kind of out of options.

This is strange. I would have think that Samsung updates would have fix this by now. I tested the bluetooth earphones and earbuds, and no distortion whatsoever, meaning this hapens only over cable ones. And i dont wanna use bluetooth in my ear cause of radiation-so i purcased instead the bluetooth wired earbuds just so i dont have transmitted signal in my ear.
....But this is not a solution - myself i really preffer wierd earphones, since the quality is the best over wired ones, no bluetooth codec can be better then wired sound. And yet, Samsung still didnt fix this??? Why keep waiting for that? It must be a software issue. Can u guys try and test wired earbuds with no micropfone - One guy here said it hapens only when using earphones with mic.

I had this problem only after I updated my software on the 14th September, will try and follow the steps highlighted by fellow users, and update on progress.

Did anyone found solution? Do you guys still have randomly appearing audio distortion over usb-c earphones or did updates fixed this issue?

I eventually gave up, sold my Samsung phone and tablet, went back my previous phone. Samsungs support was just a no show regarding fixing these bugs. I also had a problem with my Tab S8+ stuttering screen touch when fast charging everytime…
